Prepare for the future

  • Start saving before you become unemployed.
    • No such thing as “job security.”
  • Be ready beforehand for things that could happen.

Increase your Faith in the Lord

  • Pay an honest tithe.
  • Priesthood blessing.
  • Organize a family fast
  • Pray daily.
  • Study your patriarchal blessing.
  • Attend the temple as frequently as possible.
  • Fulfill your calling.
  • Dress each day for an interview, even if you do not have one scheduled.
    • Or do you want to wait until you meet that great job, and then dress the part
      • By then their “first impression” is already set….

Ask for Help in Finding a Job

  • Talk to family and friends
  • Network and interact
  • Visit job services and those who can assist you

Live within Your Means

  • Income
    • Get temp employment
    • File for unemployment
    • Do you know a talent or trade others may like
      • Music lessons
      • Yard work
    • Sell what you don't need
  • Decrease expenses
    • Public transportation
    • Memberships
    • Handmade gifts
    • Coupons
    • Homemade meals
    • Mend clothes
    • Modified replayment plans

Seek Additional Training and Skills

  • Learning valuable skill can help job placement and effect how much you earn
  • Learn interview and job hunt skills.
  • Serve others

Maintain Your Health and Well-Being

  • Eat and sleep well
  • Excersize
  • Find time to relax and ponder on greater things
  • So you are ready when needed.
