"`...You hadn't exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them had you? I mean like actually telling anyone or anything.'
`But the plans were on display...'
`On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.'
`That's the display department.'
`With a torch.'
`Ah, well the lights had probably gone.'
`So had the stairs.'
`But look you found the notice didn't you?'
`Yes,' said Arthur, `yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying "Beware of The Leopard".'"

- Arthur singing the praises of the local council planning department.

Where will you go today?

"Ah, " said Arthur, "this is obviously some strange usage of the word safe that I wasn't previously aware of. "

Sendmail

Creating a catchall

I use this at home so my websites (on the testing machine) can send out email, but it all comes to me.

Add this to /etc/mail/sendmail.mc (after 'dnl define(`SMART_HOST', `smtp.your.provider')dnl')

dnl define(`SMART_HOST', `smtp.your.provider')dnl
define(`SMART_HOST',`local:catch-all')dnl
define(`LUSER_RELAY',`local:catch-all')dnl

I had to install sendmail-cf so it could update it's config.

Add to /etc/aliases:

catch-all: user_to_catchall
*: user_to_catchall

Then run 'newaliases'

[root@host ~]# newaliases
-or-
[user@host ~]$ sudo newaliases

And restart sendmail

service sendmail restart
[root@host ~]# service sendmail restart
-or-
[user@host ~]$ sudo service sendmail restart
